Method development for the challenging simultaneous analysis of Amyloid β (Aβ) proteins

Amyloid β (Aβ) are peptides of 36–43 amino acids. They are the main components of amyloid plaques. The analysis of Aβ is not trivial as the Aβ peptides such as Aβ (1–42) are highly hydrophobic which leads to the formation of aggregates.

YMC has developed a method for the simultaneous determination of four Aβ using YMC-Triart Bio C4. As the hydrophobic Aβ have a tendency to form aggregates a stationary phase with lower hydrophobicity and a larger pore is needed. Therefore YMC-Triart Bio C4 is the optimum column for this demanding separation.
